Eugene W. Horning

Eugene W. Horning, 87, of Lititz, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 3, at UPMC Lititz.

He was married to Edith M. Wanner Horning with whom he shared 66 wonderful years. Born in Goodville, he was the son of the late Levi and Lizzie Weber Horning.

Eugene was employed as an equipment operator at Martin Limestone for 44 years. He was a member of Blue Ball Community Church where he faithfully served for many years as a trustee. Eugene enjoyed hunting and was a member of the White Deer Hunting Camp in Union County.

Surviving besides his wife are six children, Glenn L. husband of Elaine Martin Horning of Poland, ME, Daryl L. husband of Paula Burkholder Horning of Ephrata, Karen A. wife of Charles Weaver of Lititz, Carl L. husband of Shelly Walters Horning of Ephrata, Darlene F. wife of the late Quentin Rissler of East Earl, and Diane M. wife of Russell LaBrasca, Jr. of Lancaster, and was greatly loved by 24 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Pearl Horning and by a brother Marvin Horning.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, at 11:00 AM at Blue Ball Community Church, 1005 E. Main St., Blue Ball, PA. Visitations will be held at the church on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the adjoining church cemetery.
