Eugene Lamar Sensenig

Eugene “Gene” Lamar Sensenig, 75, of Denver, PA met his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 26, 2026, with his family by his side at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was married 52 years to Thelma J. (Smoker) Sensenig. Born in Brecknock Twp, he was the son of the late Titus L. and Edith (Esbenshade) Sensenig.

Gene was a member of the Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community. He retired from Sensenig and Weaver Well Drilling where he had been employed for 42 years. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and relaxing at the family cabin. He loved to ride motorcycles and play cards. He was always quick to offer a helping hand and we will all miss his ability to take something that didn’t work and revitalize it.

Surviving besides his wife is a daughter, Cheryl L. wife of Keith Martin; a son, Thomas E. husband of Heidi (Martin) Sensenig; three beloved grandchildren, Hannah Martin, Julia Martin and Alexander Sensenig; and siblings, Ruth Ann wife of Marvin King, Mary Ella Weaver, Erma wife of Ronald Weaver; and a sister-in-law, Mary Sensenig. He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Sensenig.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 30, at 3:00 P.M. at the Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, PA. A Viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and a visitation will also be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service. A private burial will be held prior to the visitation and Memorial Service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gene’s memory may be made to Drilling for Life or Blessings of Hope.
