Evelyn R. Houck

Evelyn (Graybill) Houck, 96, formerly of New Holland, PA, currently residing at Providence Place of Lancaster, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2025.

Born in Warwick township, she was the daughter of Aaron and Edna Graybill of Ephrata, PA.

Loving wife of Leo Houck with whom she spent 69 years of marriage until the time of his passing in 2020. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Evelyn was a woman of faith. A member of Ranck’s United Methodist Church and currently Leola United Methodist Church.

She was a homemaker most of her life. In 1978 she was hired as a sales clerk at Rubinsons department store in New Holland. She later became a buyer in the ladies’ department until the store closed in 1986.

Evelyn enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, reading, gardening and collecting stamps and baseball cards.

Her loving husband and family were her pride and joy. We know Leo is waiting with open arms to be reunited with his sweetheart.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Kathy Houck, New Port Richey, FL; Pam (Michael) Cheek, Elkton, MD: Brian (Sachiko) Houck, Mountville, PA: Clint (Cheryl) Houck, New Holland, PA and Laurette (Patrick) O’Donnell, New Holland, PA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Leo, her parents and three sisters and a brother.

Per her wishes, a private service will be held for immediate family only at Groff High Eckenroth Funeral Home. Interment will be at Ranck’s United Methodist Church.
