Ezra S. Eby

Ezra S. Eby, 90, of 404 White Oak Rd., New Holland, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 20 at his home. His wife, Ada N. (Zimmerman) Eby, survives.


Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Enos and Esther (Shirk) Eby.


He was a farmer and a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children: Earl Z. married to Joyce (Sensenig) Eby, Reading; Ernest Z. married to Arlene (Martin) Eby, Ephrata; Everett Z. Eby, Stevens; Irvin Z. married to Mabel (Burkholder) Eby, MI; Aaron Ezra married to Mary Ann (Horst) Eby, New Holland; Norman Z. Eby, at home; Ellen Z. married to Luke Rissler, KY; and Vernon Z. married to Esther (Burkholder) Eby, KY; 37 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and a sister Lydia married to Ray Bauman, New Holland.


He was preceded in death by five siblings: Isaac S. Eby, Rhoda S. Stauffer, Henry S. Eby, Eli S. Eby, and Sarah S. Eby.


His funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. at his late home with further services at 9:30 a.m. at Martindale Mennonite Church with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at his late home on Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
