Ezra Zimmerman Horst

Ezra Z. Horst, 81, of Quarryville, died at home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018.

He was married 58 years to Alma O. Sensenig Horst. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Edwin H. and Catherine B. Zimmerman Horst.

Ezra was a farmer and a member of the Fairmount Mennonite Church in Quarryville.

Surviving besides his wife are six sons, Marvin husband of Carolyn Zimmerman Horst of McAlisterville, Vernon husband of Sharon Brubaker Horst of Rising Sun, MD, Ezra, Jr. husband of Janice Hoover Horst of Quarryville, Kevin husband of Kimberly Johns Horst of Princess Anne, MD, Wilmer husband of Kathy Martin Horst of Mt. Pleasant Mills, and Galen husband of Crystal Brubaker Horst of North East, MD; five daughters, Catherine wife of Milton Good of Newmanstown, Dorothy wife of Ralph Martin of Elizabethtown, Sharon wife of Nelson Reiff of Ephrata, Nancy wife of E. Paul Weaver IV of Denver, and Rosene wife of Wilmer Martin of Lititz; a daughter in law, Susan Zimmerman Horst of Rising Sun, MD; 50 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Z. husband of Arlene Horst of Cochranville, and Paul Z. husband of Margee Horst of Lititz; and two sister in laws, Arlene Horst of Ephrata, and Elizabeth Horst of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by a son, Leonard S. Horst, and by two brothers, Noah Horst and Edwin Horst.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 14, at 9:30 A.M. at the Fairmount Mennonite Church, 520 Little Britain Road, Quarryville, PA with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman, Delmar Nolt, Clair Hurst and Paul Newswanger officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Farm Crest Chapel at Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheatridge Drive, Ephrata, PA.
