Ezra Z. Sensenig

Ezra Z. Sensenig, age 83, of Penn Yan, N.Y. formerly of New Holland, PA died Thursday February 2, 2012 in the comfort of his son’s home. Ezra was born June 26, 1928 in East Earl, PA, the son of the late Elam W. and Lizzie Zimmerman Sensenig. On Jan. 25, 1951 he married the former Susanna M. Martin. They have lived in New York for six months, formerly of New Holland, PA; where he was a harness maker and proprietor of E Z Sensenig & Son. Mr. Sensenig was a former member of the Old Order Martindale Mennonite Church, and a current member of the Groffdale Conference Milo Mennonite Church, in Penn Yan, NY. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Susanna M. Sensenig of Penn Yan, NY; a son John M. (Alta) Sensenig of New Holland, PA, a daughter Lucy M. wife of Mervin N. Hoover of Ephrata, PA, a son Leroy M. (Lucy) Sensenig with whom he made his home in Penn Yan, N.Y., a daughter Martha M. wife of the late Stanley Martin of Dundee, NY, 25 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 sisters Barbara wife of John Nolt of New Holland, PA, Mary wife of Christian Weaver of Leola, PA, Lizzie wife of Adam Martin of Bethel, PA, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven brothers, Jacob, Henry, Moses, Elam, Paul and his infant twin brother, and Ivan; a sister Anna wife of Samuel Shirk; 2 grandchildren Leon Sensenig, and Alma Hoover; a great granddaughter Melva Hoover; and his son in law Stanley Martin. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the family home, 895 Centerville Rd., New Holland, PA. His funeral will be at his late home on Monday at 9 AM with further services at 9:30 AM at the Martindale Mennonite Church with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Burial will be in Martindale Mennonite Church Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of local arrangements.
