F. Robert Detweiler

F. Robert Detweiler, 68, of Ephrata, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy after almost a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Franklin R. and Rosella (Goslinski) Detweiler. He was married 5 years on June 21 to Nancy L. (Weinman) Detweiler.

Robert owned and operated his own industrial plumbing business, SDR Mechanical, Inc. in Ephrata for the past 17 years.

He was a member of Petra Christian fellowship and enjoyed traveling.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, Lisa M. Hoffman of Mohnton, Heather A., married to Eric S. Shirk of Sinking Spring, Robert C., married to Heather B. (Wagner) Detweiler of Exeter, Nicholas J., married to Anna E. (Gray) Detweiler of Virginia, and Patrick L. Detweiler of Denver; a step son, James Crockett of Ephrata, and two step daughters, Amy, married to Timothy Sparr of Denver, and Stephanie Crockett of Boyertown; 19 grandchildren; and a sister, Cindy Reedy of Sarasota, FL.

Preceding him in death is a son, Jan Detweiler, Apr. 8, 1990.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28 at 10 am at Petra Christian Fellowship, 565 Airport Road, New Holland, PA 17557 with the Reverend Jeremy Leaman and the Reverend Titus Kauffman officiating. Interment will be in the Petra Memorial Park. Viewing will be held at the Church on Sunday from 6-8 pm and on Monday from 9-10 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Petra Christian Fellowship, address above, or for pancreatic cancer research at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, 100 N.
