Floyd E. Fox

Floyd E. Fox, 88, of 680 Reinholds Rd., Denver died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his home. His wife of 66 years, Anna Mary (Weaver) Fox, survives.


Born in Hinkletown, he was the son of the late David M. and Susanna (Sensenig) Fox.


Floyd’s occupations were farming and various manufacturing jobs.


He was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church. He was known for playing his harmonica for years and volunteered at Ephrata Community Hospital and various retirement communities. A sports enthusiast, he was a minor league baseball umpire for many years. He also enjoyed gardening, nature, people and life.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by 11 children: Alta F. married to Robert Landis, New Providence; James W. married to Jody Fox, Denver; Earl W. married to Ruth Fox, Stevens; Arlene F. married to James Rudy, Willow Street; Floyd E., Jr. married to Pamela Fox, Willow Street; Linda F. married to Q. Leon Zwally, Denver; Larry W. married to Cynthia Fox, Mohnton; Kenneth W. married to Karen Fox, Stevens; Gerald W. married to Tracey Fox, Denver; A. Mary married to Theodore Esbenshade, Marietta; and Brenda W. married to Philip Hall, Ottsville,; 40 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three siblings: David Fox, Hinkletown; Edith Bailey, Landis Homes, and Alice Rissler, Leola.


He was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley W. and David W. Fox.


His funeral will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Hwy., Ephrata with Pastors Glenn Sauder, Ken Fox, and Gerald Fox officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Saturday from 5 – 8 p.m. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
