Frances T. Atkins

Frances T. (Olivadate) Atkins, of New Holland, who celebrated her 100th birthday last year passed away on January 16, 2023 in her residence.

Born in Ambler, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Caterina (Gemilli) Olivadate. Her parents were 1st generation Italian immigrants and she grew up in a home that welcomed and boarded many immigrants over the years.

She was the wife of the late Alonzo J. Atkins, with whom she shared over fifty years of marriage until the time of his passing on August 15, 2000.

Frances was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was employed as a beautician in her earlier years and was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed her flowers, bird watching and gardening.

Frances is survived by her children; Robert Atkins of Altoona, Wes husband of Cathy Atkins of Chadds Ford and Frances Diem, grandchildren; Jacqui wife of Tony DiAddezio, Lauren wife of Jordan Jaworoski, Hillary Atkins, Morgan wife of Dustin Moore and John Atkins. Also surviving are great grandchildren; Levi Jaworowski, Sadie Jaworowski, Ronin Moore, Samantha DiAddezio and AJ DiAddezio; her 104 year old sister, Mary widow of John Mariancola and her favorite nephew Gregory Marincola of Ambler.

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by a son; Lonnie Atkins and a sister; Victoria Olivadate.

Frances was blessed with many wonderful caregivers during the last ten years of her life. The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Chris, Bonnie, Helen, and Melinda for their compassion, love and care given throughout the years.

Also, many thanks to all the wonderful nurses and caregivers from Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster Pennsylvania.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
