Frances Jeanne Sandoe

Frances Jeanne Sandoe, 88, formerly of Gap, died Monday, January 7 at Masonic Village. Her husband, Carl C. “Baker” Sandoe preceded her in death in 2004.

Born in Chester Co., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Vanderslice) Scott.

Jeanne was employed at the former Zausner’s Cheese for 19 years.

She was a member of New Holland Baptist Church and a member of the former Samuel Fear Chapter #417, Order of the Eastern Star, Honey Brook, now a part of the Lititz Springs Chapter.

Surviving is a daughter Carol married to Donald Doster, Leola; a son-in-law James Martin, Kinzers, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a sister Dot Usner, Blue Ball.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth Martin in 2006.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 14 at 10 am at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Tim Allen officiating. A viewing will be held at Groff-High on Monday from 9 – 10 am. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1 pm. An Eastern Star service will be held on Monday at 9:45 am.
