Fred Clifford Miller

Fred C. Miller, 88, a resident of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019.

He was the husband of the late Dorothea L. Miller who passed in 2017.

Born in Upland, Delaware County, he was the son of the late Clifford G. and Ida E. Taylor Miller.

Fred graduated from the Spring Garden Institute in 1955 and then worked for Westinghouse and Johnson Matthey as a draftsman. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the Destroyer U.S.S. Basilone DDE-824. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors for U.S. Navy veterans.

Fred was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church in Prospect Park, PA, and enjoyed scuba diving, golfing and billiards.

Surviving is a daughter, Debra and her husband Curt Zimmerman of PA, two step daughters, Janyce Turner of MD, and Dottie and her husband Jim of VA; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a brother, Don Miller of CT. He was preceded in death by a sister Betty Diamond.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 30, at 10:00 A.M. at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave, New Holland, PA with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
