Frederick L. Emery

Frederick L. Emery, 92, of Morgantown, PA, passed away suddenly, at home, on October 22, 2018.

The first son of Clayton Emery and his wife Margaret Ranck, Fred was a decorated World War II, Army veteran, serving across the South Pacific in the 81st (Wildcat) Division.

Fred was a Master Mason, and a Master Machinist. He worked for RCA, in Lancaster, PA, for decades. Over his long career, Fred built manufacturing systems that produced everything from power tubes for radios, to the initial generation of color televisions, to molybdenum glass inserts for an experimental nuclear fusion reactor. No one who knew him will ever be convinced there was anything Fred couldn't repair or build.

Fred married Shirley G. Surber in 1950, and they were inseparable, and still very much in love, when Shirley passed away in 2015.

Fred is survived by his younger brother Ed Emery, husband of Barbara, of Wyomissing, PA, two daughters, Kathy L. Emery, of Millmont, PA, and Beth 'Elis' Emery of Morgantown, PA, many nephews and nieces, of whom he was very proud, especially his great-niece, Emma Fogel, and, of course, his very best Pug, Holly. He is already dearly missed.
