Gary L. Harmon

Gary L. Harmon, 75, of New Holland, died suddenly at his home on Monday, January 4, 2016.

Born in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Jessie Guy and Margaret (Donahey) Harmon. He was married 55 years on Dec. 31 to Lois H. (Ulsh) Harmon.

Gary retired in 1998 as Customer Service Director of Aqua America Water Company in Bryn Mawr.

He served in the US Army from 1960-1963 and was a member of the Belleville VFW Post 5935, and the Morgantown American Legion Post 0537.

He enjoyed toy collecting, golfing, and was a classic car enthusiast. He also was the founder and former president of the Haverford A.C.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Brade Harmon of New Holland, William, married to Jacqueline (Hughes) Harmon of Somerset, NJ, and Laura Harmon Schuman of Northport, NY; three grandchildren, Sarah, Kelly, and Cooper; and a brother, Gregory Harmon.

Preceding him in death are five brothers and sisters, Robert Harmon, Betty Jean Heimbaugh, Patricia Rheam, Charles Harmon, and Dennis Harmon.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 8 at 1 pm at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
