Gary Lee Hoffert, 78, of Denver, passed away on November 5, 2024 as a resident of Abbeyville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Allison A. and Goldie I. (Brendle) Hoffert.

Gary had a thorough love of the St. LOUIS Cardinals, and all things baseball and softball related. Gary or “Chief”, as he was known by his players, coached a team called the “Outlaws” in the Bowmansville and New Holland men's slow pitch leagues. Many looked up to him and viewed him as their 2nd father. He loved watching his sons and grandchildren play ball and never said no when asked to pitch batting practice. Gary, along with his wife Diana, followed his children and grandchildren across the country and saw their kids play in places like Ocean City MD, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, Ohio, NY, NJ among other places.
