Gene William Weir

Gene W. Weir, 64, of New Holland, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 26, 2018.

He was the husband of the late Linda Farvel Weir who died on November 4, 2017. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Malvin G. and Blanche Wenger Weir.

Gene retired from CNH where he had worked for over 40 years. In retirement he worked in the Dairy Dept at Yoder’s Market, at Sindall Transport and for Boltz Auction Company. He was a member of the Leola United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling, baseball, trains and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Stacy wife of Michael Wolf of Leola, and Shelley Angerman of Leola; three grandchildren, Adam and Chase Wolf and Jeremy Good; a former son-in-law, Lewis Good of Leola; and a sister, Peggy wife of John Geiter of Narvon. He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Weir and by a brother Ronald Weir.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 5, at 11:00 A.M. at the Leola United Methodist Church, 7 W. Main St., Leola, PA with the Rev. Tom Fries officiating. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Zeltenreich Cemetery, New Holland, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Weir’s memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
