George S. Geisel

George W. Geisel, 76, of 150 Maple Dr., New Holland, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. His wife, Nancy (Dillon) Geisel, preceded him in death in 2008.


Born in Indiana, PA, he was the son of the late Mannis and Savannah (Lowman) Geisel.


George worked as a painter for Kimmich Painting, Lancaster. He enjoyed being with his family especially his granddaughter Brooke and Lexi and CJ Prokay, who he “adopted” as his granddaughters.


Surviving are two children: Michael married to Annette (Williams) Geisel, Lancaster and Tina married to Shane McGinnis, New Holland, granddaughter Brooke McGinnis and three siblings: Gert married to Alex Petro, Roberta Learn and Delmont “Fuzz” Geisel, all of western PA.


He was preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Emily and Allison McGinnis and six siblings.


A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Ranck’s United Methodist Church, 700 Ranck Rd., New Holland, with Pastor Elaine Miller Bortman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be posted at www.groffeckenroth.com.
