George N. Griffy

George N. Griffy, 47, of Grant Street, New Holland, PA, died Monday, July 13, 2015, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. He is survived by his wife Sherry A. (Huyett) Griffy.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Pearl (Bosley) Griffy of New Holland and the late George R. Griffy.

George was a warehouse packer and supervisor for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching professional wrestling, and playing with his dog, Gunnar.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his children, Nelson Griffy, Ephrata; Jonathan Griffy, Lancaster; Mariah, Gina and Tonya Griffy, New Holland; a grandson Dominick Griffy; two granddaughters, Sophia Towles and Abrielle Griffy; and a sister Victoria Griffy of New Holland. Also surviving are his niece Courtney Griffy, Lancaster; great nieces Ciana, Arianna and Isabella; and aunt Elsie Castellones.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his brother Antonio Griffy, his nephew Eugene Griffy, and his uncle Albert Bosley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 West Main Street, New Holland, with Pastor Mark Leaman officiating. Interment will be in the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday from Noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
