George E. Grubb

George E. Grubb, 88, of New Holland, formerly of Glenolden, died peacefully Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Garden Spot Village.

Born in Ridley Park, PA he was the son of the late Ethel C. (Chestnut) Grubb.

During WWII he served in the US Army. On September 22, 1951 he married the love of his life, Mildred (Freeman) Grubb.

George retired in 1985 after 38 years with Atlantic Refining in Philadelphia as a machinist. He was also a member of the New Holland United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, George T., (Mary Beth) of Springfield, Barbara A., (William Garling, Jr.) of Springfield, R. Scott of Ridley Park, and Nancy J. Shawell of Leesport; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his sister, Phyllis Stull.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 28 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557.
