George William Herman

George William “Bill” Herman, 60, of 13 Knollwood Dr., Lancaster, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care. His wife, Janet “Jan” (Hiller) Herman, survives.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George W. and Lorena (Snader) Herman.

Bill was employed by Hess Mills as the assistant manager, retiring in November of 2015.

He was a member of Pequea E. C. Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He will also be remembered for his love of children, throwing horseshoes, and making wine.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Terry Worall, Jr. married to Alexandria, Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren: Noah, Brody and Luke; five siblings: Shirley married to Dennis McFalls, Ronks; Lena Jo married to Terry Kline, Hanover; Cathy married to Dean Graybill, Paradise; Pamela married to Steve Bleau, Leola; Bob Herman companion of Jennie McFadden, Ronks and numerous nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Jonathan Brown officiating. Interment will be in Zeltenreich Reformed Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. If desired, memorials may be sent to Pequea E. C.
