George R. Hilton

George R. Hilton, 86, formerly of Gap, died Wednesday, January 15, 2026, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center. His wife, Gloria M. (Hahn) Hilton, preceded him in death in 2005.

Born in Salisbury Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Maurice and Ruth (Spotts) Hilton.

George was a mobile home builder for Skyline Homes, retiring in 2002 after more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending yard sales and collecting guns.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Dawn A. married to Kenny Skowood, Mark Hilton, Leah Hilton, a great grandson Nathan J. Skowood and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Detterline.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his two children, George R. Hilton, Jr. and Stephanie A. Bills, and a sister, Wanda Weir.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Culmen E. C. Church, 1885 Turkey Hill Rd., East Earl with Pastor Jonathan Brown officiating. Interment will be private in Terre Hill Cemetery. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements.
