George D. Ravel

George D. Ravel, 72, of Ephrata, died Saturday, December 16, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late George C. and Elizabeth (Savage) Ravel.

George was employed by the Coatesville VA Hospital as a Clinical Laboratory Technician from 1987 to 2015.

He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era from 1970 to 1974.

His favorite past times were golfing, baseball, and bowling.

Surviving are three children: Brian P. Ravel, David Ravel, and Valerie Mengel-Fox, three grandchildren: Morgan, Bane, and Kristin, a brother Glenn Ravel and former spouses Jane Lubahn and Jenny Ravel.

Services will be private with burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements. The family would also like to thank the dedication, support, and love from hospice and WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital staff.
