George Sellers Smith

George Sellers Smith (Smitty), 89, of Elverson, passed away August 28, 2020, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center.


Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of George Sellers and Dorothy Straub Smith. He grew up in St. David’s and attended the Radnor schools. He was a veteran of the Korean War.


Sellers worked in financial securities, real estate, and other various jobs. His greatest joy was riding his horse across the country in the 1976 Bicentennial Wagon Train. He enjoyed riding horses, driving carriages, and still participated in wagon trains well into his 70’s.


Surviving are his four children, Geoffrey (Sharon) Smith of Hamilton, NJ, Jennifer (Chris) Stress of Alburtis, PA, Sharon (Michael) Azzara of Downingtown, PA, Chad (Justine) Smith of Phillipsburg, NJ. Nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews.


Preceding him in death was his beloved twin sister Dorothy Sharp.


Private graveside services will be held at St. David’s Episcopal Cemetary in Radnor.
