Gerald G. "Jack" Frost, Jr., of New Holland, died at Lancaster General Hospital early Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, following a gallant four year battle with Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his wife Diane (Sidelinger) Frost with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Gerald G. and Elizabeth (Evans) Frost and grew up in Norwich and Navarino, NY. He graduated with a B.S. from Cornell University in 1955. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant where he was an instructor for the Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I. Jack was a very active member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ, where he served on Consistory as President for many years, and on various committees of the church. He also served on church groups helping in disaster relief. Having moved to New Holland in 1960, Jack was Service Manager, North America for Ford New Holland, retiring in 1991. He served on the Board of Directors of Coatesville Savings Bank for 30 years. He was a member of the New Holland Kiwanis Club since 1961 and was on the Eastern Lancaster County School Board, serving as President for 11 years. He also served on the Board of Directors of Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority from 1992 to 2010. He enjoyed woodworking and repair work of every kind. He loved to travel, enjoyed tennis, golf and residing seasonally in Maine and Florida. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Susan R. Frost of Oakland, NJ, and a son John R., married to Michele (McCracken) Frost of Granby, CT, and two grandchildren, Natalia and David Frost. Services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, with Rev. David Goode and Chaplains Chet Yoder and Marian Harnish officiating. Family will receive friends following the service. Private interment will be in the St. Stephen U.C.C. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Jack to St. Stephen U.C.C. Memorial Fund, 249 E. Main St., New Holland, PA 17557 or to Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 S.
