Gerald M. (Gerry) Hoover, 74, born in Newville, PA was the son of the late Vera Wolf Hoover and the late Delmer Lehman Hoover died January 6, 2016

Gerry served in the U. S. Army Soldier Chorus as singer and accompanist. He earned his music degree from Combs’ Music College in Philadelphia. Was a Church Organist and Choir Director for 60 years and a member and former Dean of the Harrisburg Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He was a member of St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church (Sandhill), Hummelstown and their organist until mid-December, 2015.

He retired from the PA State Library System.

Gerry is survived by brother, Dallas Hoover (Diane), Newville; and sisters: Jill Hoover Pretz (Jeffrey), Ephrata, and Crystal Hoover Bowman (Keith), Harrisburg; 6 nieces; and grand nieces and nephews. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Jay.

Service and Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gerry’s memory to St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 850 Hill Church Rd, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania 17036-9741.
