Gladys Wimer Hillard

Gladys W. Hillard, 99, of Gap, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Leon H. Hillard who died in 1997. Born in Paradise Township, she was the daughter of the late Warren M. and Blanche Shaub Wimer.

Gladys retired from the Bake Shop at Kitchen Kettle Village at the age of 89 after 27 years of employment. She was a member of Pequea Presbyterian Church and had taught Sunday School there for 33 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking cookies,

Surviving is a son Leon H. Hillard, Jr. of Gap; and 1 grandson, Blake husband of Elizabeth Hillard of Bowmansville. She was preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd, Harold, John, and Waren Wimer, and by sisters, Dorothy Snodgrass and Elizabeth Witmer.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 8, at 11:00 A.M. at the Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA with the Rev. Glenn Beard officiating. Interment in the Pequea Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
