Gladys I. Rohrbach, 94, of 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, formerly of 546 W. Main St., New Holland, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Fairmount Homes.
Born in Manor Twp., she was the daughter of the late Sheldon H. and Florence Mae (Neff) Keeports. Her husband, William F. Rohrbach, died Jan. 8, 2004.
Gladys attended the Lynden one room school, Willow Street Consolidated School, and West Lampeter High School where she graduated in 1935. She was a member of Willow Street Church and Sunday school and later transferred her membership to St. Stephen United Church of Christ in New Holland.
She was a licensed Practical Nurse and worked at the Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital and the Lancaster Heart Haven until it closed. She was also a member of the Blue Ball Senior Citizens along with many travel trailer camping clubs: National Campers Travelers, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Rajah Caravaners, Twin Rose Sams, and See Sun Rise 'N' Set.
Gladys enjoyed traveling, entertaining and decorating for the holidays. She traveled to Europe, England, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg, Canada, Florida, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and New Orleans.
Surviving is a son, Ray Bomberger of Ephrata; and a granddaughter, Melissa Deininger of Ames, Iowa. Preceding her in death is a brother, Vernon K. Keeports.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 11 am at St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 249 E. Main St., New Holland with the Reverend David Goode officiating. Interment will be in the Conestoga Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland and on Saturday at the Church 10-11 am.
