Glenn L Eberly

Glenn L. Eberly of New Holland, Pa. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 15 at the age of 73 at Lancaster General Hospital. The son of Norman N. and Ruth M. Eberly, he was born on November 27, 1945 in New Holland, where he was a lifelong resident. He was married to Sharon L. Frankhouser for 48 years.

Glenn was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church. He worked as an estimator for Good’s Furniture and Martin’s Floor Covering.

Glenn joined Liberty Fire Company in January 1962 and served nearly six decades as a firefighter, driver, and captain. He was also active in the Zone 3 Fireman’s Association, where he served for 25 years as treasurer.

He enjoyed spending time with family, going to his cabin, and watching sports, especially when his son or grandchildren were playing.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Ruth Eberly, his brothers Leon and Paul and sister Roseanne. Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon Eberly are his two children, Donna Eberly Peang-Meth, of Rockville, Md. and James Glenn Eberly, of Blackwell, Pa.; his son-in-law Jeffrey Peang-Meth; and his two grandchildren, Nicholas Eberly Peang-Meth and Maura Eberly Peang-Meth. Glenn is also survived by his sisters Marian married to George Eisenberger, Joyce married to Gene Nolt, Darlene married to Ron Lapp, Karen married to Robert Frank, Thelma Eberly, and sister-in-law, Janet Eberly.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 20 from 9-11am, at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 168 N. Groffdale Road, Leola, with a funeral service to follow at 11am.
