With heavy hearts the family of Glenn H. Gingrich, 83, of New Holland, announce his unexpected passing at home Sunday, November 3, 2024.
He was married 63 years to Mary Jane (Hoover) Gingrich. Born in Myerstown, he was the son of the late Sidney and Mabel Horning Gingrich.
In 1965 Glenn founded Glenn Gingrich, Inc, a building construction firm based in New Holland. In 1987 he became one of the owners of Superior Walls. He chaired their board from 1987-2021. He was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church where he served as a trustee and a member of the building committee. In 1983 he was the president of the Lancaster Home Builders Association. Glenn served on the board of CrossLinks, an economic development and relief agency to Moldova and Ukraine for more than 30 years. He enjoyed photography, traveling, and birding. The most important thing in his life was spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Bruce husband of Migdalia Gingrich of New Holland, and Brenden husband of Melissa Gingrich of San Diego; a daughter, Lisa Gingrich wife of Vernon Fisher of Lancaster; 5 grandchildren, Maritza Gingrich, Kathryn Gingrich, Samuel husband of Jasmine Gingrich, Benjamin Gingrich and Elizabeth Gingrich; five siblings, Elaine Doutrich of Myerstown, Ruth wife of Galen Martin of Myerstown; Naomi wife of Harold Martin of Wolmesdorf, James Gingrich of Leola, and Judith wife of John Musselman of Myerstown. He was preceded in death by a stillborn granddaughter, Christina Gingrich and a sister Sylvia Ebersole.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 P.M. at the Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 Division Hwy, Ephrata, PA. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held at the Church on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hinkletown Mennonite Church, Ukraine Relief Fund.
