Glenn R. Houck

Glenn R. Houck, of Narvon, PA, passed away at the age of 84.

Born on August 30, 1940, to Richard and Alice (Fisher) Houck, Glenn grew up in Narvon, Pennsylvania and had a lifelong love of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He was the co-owner of Houck & Usner Roofing & Siding, where he worked for many years.

Glenn is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alta (Stauffer) Houck, to whom he was married for 35 years. Glenn and Alta actively served in their church, enjoyed traveling by train, and loved to host family gatherings.

Glenn is also preceded in death by his brother, Doug Houck, and April Shirk, wife of Michael Shirk.

He is survived by his siblings, Linda Ruoss, Dale (Zina) Houck, and his children: Glenn Houck, Jr. (Barbara), Ronald (Tammy) Houck, Kimberly Gunning, and Alta’s children: Michael Shirk, Terry (Nicole) Shirk, and Tracey (Mark) Philips. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Angie (Donald) Suter, Lloyd Ruoss Jr., Michael Ruoss, Denise (Michael) Shriver, Todd Houck, Randy (Tara) Houck, Nathan (Amber) Strain.

Glenn was grandfather to Travis, Jamie, Michael, Jr., Dustin (Emily), Carissa, Izaiah, Myles, Kira, London, Emma, Caleb, Logan, Jonathan, Rebecca, Josiah, Anna, Emily, and Lily, as well as great-grandfather to Summer and Daisy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 10:30am at Ranck's United Methodist Church, 700 Ranck Road, New Holland, PA 17557. A luncheon and time of visitation will be held after the service.
