Glenn W. Hurst

Glenn W. Hurst, 53, of 629 Wyncroft Lane, Lancaster, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Lancaster.

Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Janet L. (Steffy) Hurst of Lititz and the late Richard L. Hurst.

Glenn worked as a cook for a time at Welsh Mountain Home. He was a very kind and gentle soul with a loving and generous heart, always willing to help others. His kindness will be missed by many. He so enjoyed listening to music, cooking, gardening and volunteering at Tempo Clubhouse in Lancaster, but most of all spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his mother are three siblings, Sherman, married to Cathy Ann (Rollman) Hurst of New Holland, Linda, married to Steve Bucher of New Holland, and Creston Hurst of Reno, NV.

Preceding him in death is a brother, Rick Hurst in 2009.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Lancaster County MH/MR and Tempo Clubhouse for all their care and support over the last few years.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8 at 2 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be held at the Terre Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Viewing will be held on Friday at the Funeral Home from 1-2 pm.
