Grace E. Horst

Grace E. Horst, 92, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, died Friday, March 25, 2016 at Garden Spot Village. Her husband, Raymond S. Horst, preceded her in death in 2003.

Born in East Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Landis and Anna (Sauder) Sensenig.

Grace was a homemaker and a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church. In earlier years, she was involved with the Ladies Sewing Circle of the church. She enjoyed time spent with family, quilting, gardening, walking and reading. In her earlier years, she volunteered at the Re-Uzit Shop of New Holland.

Surviving are three children: Melba R. married to Leon Eshleman, Manheim; Gerald R. married to Linda (Benner) Horst, New Holland; Joyce L. married to Ronald Leaman, Lancaster; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilmer G. married to Jane Sensenig, New Holland and a brother-in-law, Paul Weaver, Lititz.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Weaver.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Garden Spot Village Garden Towers with Bishop C. Kenneth Martin and Pastor Thomas Eshleman officiating. The family will receive friends in the Garden Towers from 10 – 11 a.m. Burial will be private in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, P. O. Box 500, Akron, PA 17501. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
