IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gus
August 7, 2014 – November 14, 2025
While doing his famous zoomies in the yard, the one and only Gus decided to keep right on running and crossed the rainbow bridge without stopping to say goodbye. While it was unexpected, this day was his Aunt Tracy’s heavenly birthday and there is no better gift than knowing the two of them are together laughing, playing, and running through the clouds.
Gus was a legend, known and adored by all. Even if you didn’t know him personally, you certainly knew of him. He was, and still is, a fixture in everyone’s hearts and the bestest boy with many nicknames…Gus Gus, Goofy Gus, Baby Gus, Gusmus, Gus Gus Asparagus, Fluffy Gussy, Fabio, and even Kenny!
Gus was fiercely loyal in the best way, always wanting to be as close to you as possible but at the same time couldn’t help being afraid of some of life’s simplest things (hot air balloons, the washing machine, and anything that was out of place and not where he thought it should be were some of his biggest nemeses)…it was a quirk of his and all a part of what made him so extra special.
Gus’ favorite activities were simply being his usual happy and goofy self, always preferring to lay upside down, always wanting you to hold his paw, eating sticks, doing his ‘happy dance’ at feeding time, giving high fives, being the first one in the water, freeing all stuffies from their squeakers, car rides with his head out the window and ears flapping in the wind, chasing birds at the park, eating pizza crust (and the occasional steak without permission), joining in on any impromptu dance parties, and loving and wanting to be a best friend to everyone he met.
Gus’ life, and the way he lived it, brought smiles, laughter and joy to all who knew him. He will be forever missed but forever remembered. To know him was to immediately love him. Life on earth will not be the same without Gus, and heaven will never be the same with Gus, but that is who he was, always leaving a lasting impression no matter where he was.
Keep being a good boy, My Gussy, thank you for the love, for the laughs, for the dances, for the paws and high fives, for the hugs and the snuggles, for the memories, and for just being you. Thank you for sharing all the years of your life with me and everyone you met along the way. Miss you most My Gussy, all my hugs, high fives, paw holding, and love, until we meet again!
