Hannah E. Martin

Hannah E. Martin, 92, of 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, formerly of Landis Rd., Ephrata, died Monday, February 29, 2016 at Fairmount Homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Martin on March 10, 2001.

Born in Caernarvon Twp., she was the daughter of the late Gideon K. and Anna Z. (Weaver) Fisher.

Hannah was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, doll collecting, gardening and growing flowers. She also devoted many volunteer hours to Christian Aid Ministries.

Surviving and mourning her death are nine children: Lester F married to Verna Martin, Terre Hill; Chester Lee married to Linda Martin, Denver; James Jay married to Erla Martin, Tamaqua; Jerry F. married to Amy Martin, Cambridge Springs; Bernice Arlene married to Bill Ragan, Williamsport; Larry Eugene married to Irene Martin, South Boston, VA; Beatrice Ann married to Michael Miller, Rock Hill, SC; Brenda Martin married to Ray Hurst, Glenmoore; and Randy Lynn married to Sharon Martin, Denver; 38 grandchildren; 137 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eli W. Fisher, Elwood Gideon Fisher and Albert Lawrence Fisher and a sister Estella Mae Stauffer; a daughter-in-law, Linda L. Martin; a grandson, Nathan Lee Martin, and five great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Rd., Ephrata (Martindale) with David Sensenig, Eugene Weaver, and Daryl Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held at the church on Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 – 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Christian Aid Ministries, P. O. Box 360, Berlin, OH 44610. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
