Harvey H. Shirk

Harvey H. Shirk, 80, of New Holland, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 1, 2019

He was married 48 years to Joann F. Morgan Shirk. Born in East Earl, he was the son of the late John W. and Mary Huber Shirk.

Harvey retired from Bethlehem Steel in 2000 where he had been employed for 34 years. He enjoyed going to auctions and buying and selling tools and antiques.

He was a member of Pine Grove Church in Bowmansville.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Harvey N. Shirk of New Holland, Trent Shirk of Holtwood, and Travis Shirk of New Holland; four daughters, Kristina wife of Kervin Blank of New Holland, Amanda wife of Jason Bickel of Ephrata; Lori wife of Gier Gronstad of Troy, MI and Brenda wife of Bob Bowers of Dothan, AL; six granddaughters, one grandson, two great grandsons; and two brothers, Phares husband of Arlene Newswanger Shirk of Narvon, and Rufus husband of Rebecca Brubacker Shirk of East Earl. He was preceded in death by bothers, Norman and Enos Shirk and by a sister, Anna Shirk.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 5, at 11:00 A.M. at Pine Grove Church, 1194 Reading Road, Bowmansville, PA with the Rev. Jonathan E. Yoder officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call at the Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
