Harvey Z. Hoover

Harvey Z. Hoover, 74, of 333 Reading Rd., East Earl, died unexpectedly of natural causes on July 15, 2025.

Born in East Earl, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Emma (Zimmerman) Hoover.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Spring Grove Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

In addition to his wife, Nora M. (Burkholder) Hoover, he is survived by the following children: a daughter, Almeta married to Lawrence Horning of Trenton, KY and six sons: Aidin married to Miriam Hoover of New Holland, Luke Ray married to JoAnne (Brubaker) Hoover of Trenton, KY, Harvey married to Rachel (Newswanger) Hoover, Mark married to Erma (Zimmerman) Hoover, both of Penn Yan, NY, Nelson married to Annetta (Zimmerman) Hoover of Elkton, KY, James married to Linda (Zimmerman) Hoover of East Earl, 54 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three brothers: John Hoover of East Earl, Alvin Hoover of Whorton, OH, and Reuben Hoover of Penn Yan, NY and four sisters: Erma Zimmerman of Kutztown, Ada Reiff of East Earl, Anna Hoover of Mifflinburg and Frances Burkholder of Fleetwood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Paul Z. Hoover and a stillborn brother.

His funeral will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Spring Grove Mennonite Church with Bishop Marvin Nolt, John Daniel Sensenig, John David Hoover and Alvin Hoover officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held at the late home on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, is in charge of arrangements.
