Hector L. Ramos

Hector L. Ramos, 54, of New Holland, died Thursday, April 5, 2018 at his home after a strong fight with cancer.

Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Cecilio and Carmen (Matos) Ramos. He was married 25 years on Dec. 31 to Tamara (McKinley) Ramos.

Hector worked for the past 4 years as a Diesel Mechanic for Earl R Martin Trucking in New Holland. Prior to that he owned and operated East Side Performance in New Holland from 2000 to 2006, and also worked for 25 years in the body shop at Martin Limestone.

He had attended Weaverland Mennonite Church, Leola United Methodist Church, and LCBC in Ephrata. He enjoyed helping anyone in need. He loved his time at the beach house in Millsboro, DE. He loved going fishing with his grandkids, movies, and mostly enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. He was a loving husband, Father and Pa-Pa and a friend to many with a great sense of humor. He had a huge heart and a smile that would light up a room. He will be dearly missed by all the lives he has touched.

Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 children, Corinne (Jason) Bailey of New Holland, Frisco Ramos of Gap, and Francisca Ramos of Gap; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan, Quintin, and Dalila Bailey, Bryson Ramos, and Mariah McLemore; 6 sisters, Carmen (Pedro) Rivera of Florida, Iris Schoff of Millersville, Eva Diaz of Lancaster, Maria Belen (Julio) Ramos of Florida, Maria Pilar (Rick) Garcia of Texas, and Jaqueline (Ron) Diem of New Holland; 4 brother, Antonio (Antonia) Ramos of Lancaster, Gabriel (Shirley) Ramos of Florida, Reuben (partner Tina Mohr) Ramos of Millersville, and Nelson (Amy) Ramos of Ephrata; a sister-in law, Audrey (Rick) Andrews of Leola; a brother-in-law, Robert (Holly) McKinley of Denver; a mother-in-law, Judy McKinley (companion of John Sizemore) of Leola; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are 3 sisters, Anadelia Diaz, Cecilia Ramos, and Margarita Nieves; and a father-in-law, Robert McKinley.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 4pm at Leola United Methodist Church 7 West Main St. Leola, Pa 17540. Welcoming family and friends from 1-4 pm.
