Helen Marie (Lewis) Blackwell of East Earl, PA entered into a peaceful rest on Thursday September 19, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a wonderful mother, devoted wife and example to all whose lives she touched. Many have said that they have been blessed just by knowing her.
She is survived by her Husband of 56 years, William J. Blackwell , 5 children; William S Blackwell married to Patricia, Richard C. Blackwell married to Sherri, Thomas J. Blackwell, Gary A. Blackwell, Kimberly A. married to Brian K. Zimmerman, 4 grandchildren Casey Blackwell, married to Emily, Keith Blackwell, married to Stephanie, Meagan Zimmerman and Breanna Zimmerman. She was also blessed with 3 great-grand children, Lillian Blackwell, Addison Blackwell and Drew Blackwell.
Helen was a sincere follower of Christ and taught her children and others to also love the Lord. She enjoyed teaching God's Word and had been involved in various ministries throughout her Christian life such as a Muppet ministry featuring Grump and Co., Kids crusades, Jr. Church and Children's Aglow. Helen also has experienced the joy of sharing at Women's Aglow, teaching Sunday school, and speaking for other women's groups. Helen's ministry included prayer, which she shared regularly with her friends, nurses and neighbors, teaching and using the Love Command to share the love of God with others.
Helen was a welcome wagon hostess and a committee woman for her township.
A viewing will be held Monday September 23 at Eckenroth Funeral Home, 209 E Main Street Terre Hill, PA, 6:00 -8:00 pm. There will also be a viewing on Tuesday September 24, at James H. Evans Funeral Home, 347 S Second Street, Saint Clair, PA 17970 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Wednesday September 25 at 10:30 am and interment at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, St. Clair, PA.
Due to the high cost of medical care, the family asks in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shift Church, 95 Summer Lane, Lititz, PA 17543
