Helen J. Kennedy

Helen J. Kennedy, 71, of 1771 Main St., East Earl, died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in West Sadsbury Twp., she was the daughter of the late Walter O. and Mary (Gibson) Hardy. Her husband, William T. Kennedy, died Jan. 1, 2011. Helen worked for the past 33 years as a nursing assistant at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center in Narvon. She has been attending Weaverland Mennonite Church. She loved children and her cats. Surviving is a brother, Eugene Hardy of Florida; three sisters, Betty Clevenstine of Honey Brook, Maryann Peck of Reading, and Martha Casella of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is a daughter, Bonny Kennedy; two brothers, Walt and Charles Hardy; and a sister, Eleanor Geiger. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 10 am at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., PO Box 31, Terre Hill, PA 17581, with the Reverend Brian Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Caernarvon Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 9-10 am.
