Helen M. Krantz, 88, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Born in Gilberton, PA, October 21, 1936, she was one of eight children. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter and two sisters, Eleanor and Linda.

Her spirit continues to live on through her other sisters and brothers: Marian Knittle, Frackville, Ruth James, Lititz, Janet Prosper, St. Clair, Frank James, married to Marcie James, Connecticut, and Robert James, married to Martha James, Alabama.

She married Clarence R. Krantz, of Ringtown, PA, on April 11,1959, in Puerto Rico where he was stationed in the Army. In May, 1960, their daughter Holly was born.

They returned to PA and purchased their lifetime home in Gordonville, PA in 1961. They had their son, Gary in August, 1965.

They were blessed with two granddaughters, Allison and Katelyn Krantz, along with many nieces and nephews, who adore her.

She worked at the Dept. of Education, Harrisburg, Van Housen Shirt Co., New Holland National Bank, and Good’s Furniture.

A longtime member of Zeltenreich Reformed Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and treasurer for the Women’s Christan Fellowship.

She enjoyed line dancing, traveling, shopping, and loved lighthouses. She collected and visited many of them.

Helen loved to love people and could easily strike up conversations with anyone. Her gift of hospitality showed her faith in action. She opened up her home as a gathering place for sharing meals, celebrating holidays, lodging, picnics, parties, and fun times with friends, family and acquaintances.

Her celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11am at Zeltenreich Reformed Church, 752 Hollander Rd., New Holland. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held at the church on Friday from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday from 10 to 11 am. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements.
