Henry Harrison Bitler, Jr., 79, loving father, grandfather, and brother, entered into rest Wed., Jan. 27, 2016 after a long illness.
Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Henry Harrison and Jeanette (McGowan) Bitler.
A United States Army veteran, Henry worked in the automotive industry for many years with Sauder and Star Chevrolet. After retiring, he served as the President of the Terre Hill Alumni Association. He volunteered with the Lancaster and the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Societies, and the Smoketown Airport. He also led the restoration of the Binkley Cemetery in Manor Township. Henry was an avid bowler and an award-winning woodworker.
He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Norotsky, wife of Chris, of Bowmansville; four grandsons: Collin H., Mason W., Owen R., and Ian C. Norotsky; six sisters; Theda Gonzalez, Anna Habecker, Dorothy Messner, wife of Wilmer, Jeanette Risser, wife of Donald, Debra Kohl, and Margaret Bitler; and a long-time companion, Sonya LaGamba.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosalie (Torres) Bitler, and his daughter Denise Bitler.
His funeral will be held on Mon., Feb. 1, 2016 at 2 PM at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill PA 17581 with Pastor Al Hoffman officiating. Interment will be in Terre Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM at the funeral home prior to services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to a trust in his sister Margaret’s name (contact Lisa for more information).
