Herbert C. Robbins

Herbert C. Robbins, 89, of New Holland, passed away October 18, 2015 at Garden Spot Village. He was the loving husband of Diane E. (Alstrup) Robbins, with whom he celebrated over 61 years of marriage.

Born in Hackensack, NJ, he was a son of the late Francis A. and Harriet B. (Carlton) Robbins.

Herbert served in the Army during the Korean War. He later went on to work as an electrical and computer engineer.

He was a member of the Community Church at Garden Spot. In his spare time he enjoyed Bible study, puzzles, baseball (especially the Phillies), baking (especially Christmas cookies), and computers. He also loved spending time with his family to whom he was deeply devoted.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five children: Keith Robbins, husband of Cathy, of Springfield, PA, Kevin Robbins, husband of Laura, of Lockport, NY, Timothy Robbins, husband of Brenda, of Nicholasville, KT, Amy Seiden of Media, PA, and Beth Harris, wife of Mark, of Lynchburg, VA; a sister, Ruth Todd, of New Jersey; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, David Robbins, a brother-in-law, Jack Todd, and a son-in-law, Alan Seiden.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 3 PM at the chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Avenue, New Holland, PA 17557 with Pastor Chester Yoder officiating. Interment will be held privately by the family. Visitation will take place from 2-3 PM at the chapel prior to services.
