Irene M. Rutt

Irene M. (Weber) Rutt, 96, a resident of Fairmount Homes, passed away on July 4, 2025.

Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Lydia (Martin) Weber.

She was the wife of the late Eugene H. Rutt, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage until the time of his passing on January 29, 1998.

She was a member of Faith Mennonite Fellowship and was a homemaker. She had worked in the deli at Shady Maple for 20 years. Irene cared for others and made friends wherever she went. Her family was a very important part of her life. She was the last surviving member of her generation in the Martin/Weber family.

Irene is survived by her children, Rosanne wife of Larry Burkholder of Ephrata, Karen wife of Kenneth Wanner of Denver, Dean Rutt of East Earl and Gary Rutt of Denver, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and daughters-in-law, Sandy Stoltzfus and Gladys Sensenig.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Wilmer Rutt and Galen Rutt, grandson, Brian Lee Rutt and siblings, Edgar Martin, Ivan Martin, Henry Martin, Anna Hursh, Peter Martin, Amos Weber, Mary Weaver, Ida Weaver, Mabel Hurst, Martin Weber and Raymond Weber.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Faith Mennonite Fellowship, 335 N Line Road, Stevens PA 17578. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fairmount Homes Wheat Ridge Chapel, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata PA 17522. A private burial will be held in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery (Frame) prior to the service.
