Irvin N. Zimmerman, 81, of 1042 Pleasant Hill Rd., Fleetwood, entered into rest Monday, June 16, 2014 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Anna B. (Rutt) Zimmerman. They celebrated their 60th anniversery on March 20.
Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Eli and Mary (Nolt) Zimmerman.
Irvin was a dairy farmer for 36 years in the Fleetwood area. In 1992, he started Zimmerman Pet Food and was the sole owner/operator of it until November 2013.
He was a member of the Walnuttown Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Leonard Zimmerman, Denver; Eli Clair married to Barbara (Seibel) Zimmerman, Fleetwood; Irvin, Jr. married to Janelle (Weaver) Zimmerman, Ephrata; Roseann married to Lloyd Byler, Choteau, MT; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and five sisters: Ada wife of the late Ezra Eby, Martindale; Mary Ella wife of the late Eli Eby, Martindale; Alta wife of the late Russel Hinkle, Fleetwood; Edna wife of Willis Martin, Arbela, MO and Anna married to Elvin Martin, Fleetwood.
He was preceded in death by three infant children and a sister Lizzie and her husband Milton Horst.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, June 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Bowmansville Mennonite Church with Bishop Leon Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Martindale Reception Center on Wednesday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
