John Irwin Weber, 77, of Denver, PA, went home to be with Jesus, September 28, 2013 after a brief illness.
Born near Bowmansville, he was the son of the late Henry and Annie (Horning) Weber. He farmed as a young man and later worked for Gehman’s Feed Mill in Denver, then for the former Allen G. Musser’s Hardware in Bowmansville. In later years, he worked for Weaver Markets in Blainsport and then Adamstown.
Irwin Taught Sunday school for a number of years at Blainsport Mennonite Church. He also loved to sing, read, collect and study maps, travel and keep daily records of the weather. He was a good provider for his family and an example for his children.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beatrice (Hoover) Weber of Denver, a son, Myron, married to Lois (Stehr) Weber of Denver; a daughter, Cheryl Weber of Mohnton; a grandson, Brad, married to Kayla (Good) Weber of Akron; as well as 24 nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Irwin was preceded in death by three brothers; Monroe, Howard and Lewis; four sisters, Kathryn, Mabel, Orpha and Clara; and 6 nieces and nephews.
A life Celebration Service will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Congregational Church, 46 E. Church St., Reamstown, on Friday, October 4.
