J. Larry Styer

J. Larry Styer, 69, of 318 Linden St., Terre Hill, was called home to the Lord after a valiant battle with Melanoma on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Hershey Medical Center. His wife of 44 years, Sandra L. (Eberly) Styer, survives.

Born in Caernarvon Twp., he was the son of the late Raymond H. and Margaret R. (Devine) Styer.

He proudly served his country in the Army from 1966-1968, during the Vietnam War.

Larry was retired, having worked as a merchandiser for Woolworth for 25 years and then was employed by Good’s Furniture and the Jay Group.

He was an active member of Trinity E. C. Church, Terre Hill. He was also a member of the Ephrata VFW, the Lancaster County Post Card Club and the Hershey Region AACA. He had also been active in the Terre Hill community with car shows and Terre Hill days.

He enjoyed going to flea markets, public sales, yard sales, postcard shows, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Stephanie L. married to Aaron Strous, Ephrata and Jennifer L. married to Tim Connolly; four grandchildren: Kayci and Tyler Strous and Drew and Claire Connolly; and three siblings: Raymond “Sonny” Styer, New Holland; Carl “Butch” Styer, Narvon; and Faye Witwer, Narvon.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Trinity E. C. Church, 110 E. Main St., Terre Hill with Pastor Wil Martin officiating. Interment will be in Terre Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill and on Wednesday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the church.
