Jacob H. Shissler

Jacob H. Shissler, Jr., 84, of New Holland, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at his home.

Born in Strasburg, PA, he was a son of the late Jacob and Clara Elizabeth (Bealler) Shissler. He was married to Betty Lou (Landis) Shissler for 63 years.

Jacob was a manual laborer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working, helping children, and making people happy. He was a member of the Travelers Protective Association (Post-D of Lancaster.

Surviving with his wife are four sons, Parke J. Shissler of Lancaster, Daniel L. Shissler of Lancaster, Jack C. Shissler of Jacksonville, NC, and Bert E. Shissler of Lancaster; one daughter, Claudella Tripp of Windsor, NY; four grandsons, Charles Morris, Parke Shissler, Brad Tupper, and Ronald Pentz, Jr.; one granddaughter, Kathleen Yellets; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jacob was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Viewings will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 1-4 PM and 6-9 PM at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 West Main Street, New Holland.
