James S. Axe

James S. Axe, 88, of Denver, died Friday, June 27, 2025, at Ephrata Manor. His wife of 71 years, Frances (Romig) Axe, survives.

Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Landis and Ethel (Moore) Axe.

Jim retired from Trojan Yacht after 39 years. He then worked in various kitchen cabinet shops in the area. One of his favorite pastimes was playing golf.

He had attended New Holland First Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda married to George Dippner, New Holland, 9 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and three siblings: Landis W. Axe, Jr., Barbara Weaver, and Sandy Eshelman.

He was preceded in death by two children: Brenda Nixon and James D. Axe.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill with Pastor Jack Peters officiating.
