James L. Discavage

James L Discavage, age 86 of Ephrata (formerly of Narvon and Delaware County), went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16,2026 at Fairmount Homes. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

James was born in Altoona, Pa and was the son of the late William and Bessie (Diehl) Discavage.

He was married to Grace (Smith) Discavage, who passed away on March 7,2026, for 65 years.

James is survived by his son Michael (Joanne), his 3 granddaughters- Cayla Stoltzfoos (Shaun), Cara Forry (Evan) and Sofia Discavage. He was Grandpa Jim to his 2 great granddaughters Nora Grace and Raven Lily.

James is also survived by his 2 sisters- Karen Jubina (Jack) and Linda Alexander (Rick) of Portage, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Barry Discavage.

James loved Jesus and his family above all else but also loved children and animals.

Early in his career, James was employed as an industrial arts teacher. Before retirement he worked at Fenner Drives in Manheim,PA as a mechanical engineer. James had more than a dozen patents worldwide for machines that he designed. His skill at being able to fix all things was legendary.

A Memorial Service for James will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Road, New Holland PA.
