James Michael Ludwig

James M. Ludwig, 71, of New Holland, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lena M. (Kanagy) Ludwig.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Melvin H. and Ethel M. (Renninger) Ludwig.

Jim graduated in 1970 from Garden Spot High School. He furthered his education at the Wentworth Institute and eventually received his degree from Millersville University. He retired from CDS Solutions as a computer programmer.

A member of St. Stephen Reformed Church, New Holland. He enjoyed old movies, the Phillies, and sitting on his front porch, which provided him with the best seat in town for the Farm Show parade. His greatest pride came from his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Justin married to Sarah Ludwig, two grandchildren, Lane and Beck, a brother Edward married to Shirley Ludwig and a sister Ellen Ludwig.

At Jim’s request, services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be to a charity of one’s choice. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences and remembrances may be posted at www.groffeckenroth.com.
