James Addison Reed

James Addison Reed, 90, of New Holland, PA, formerly of Crosswicks, NJ, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home after a brief illness.

Born in Georgetown, NJ, he was the son of the late Harry Elmer, Sr., and Genevieve (Gray) Reed. His wife, Jeanne P. (Layton) Reed, died Dec. 8, 2009.

James worked as a self-employed contractor for many years, retiring in 1988.

Surviving are three children, Mark A. Reed of New Holland, PA, Stephanie, married to Michael Cohen of East Earl, PA, and Matthew D. Reed of New Holland, PA; and three grandchildren, Rita and Benjamin Cohen, and Katelin Hatter.

Preceding him in death is a son, James A. Reed, Jr.; five brothers, Elmer, Wallace, Allen, Lloyd, and David Reed; and two sisters, Gertrude Shinn, and Lois Girton.
